Programs & Seminars
We study not to accumulate but to be changed.
Reading Circles
Multi-week, text-centered, scholar-led, intimate cohort. Not a lecture series — a formation experience. Each circle is built around a primary text, guided by a scholar who has lived with it, and held in a small group where real exchange is possible.
Current / Upcoming
The Bezels of Wisdom: Reading Ibn ʿArabī Together
Dr. Faris Abdelhadi
An accessible entry into the Fuṣūṣ al-Ḥikam. We read slowly, discuss honestly, and let the text do its work.
Register→Ghazālī's Revival: The Book of Knowledge
Facilitated reading circle
The opening book of the Iḥyāʾ — why Ghazālī began with knowledge itself, and what that means for us.
Register→The Alchemy of Happiness: Kīmiyā-yi Saʿādat
Community-led
Ghazālī's Persian distillation of the Revival — written for seekers, not scholars. A perfect starting point.
Register→The Mashrab Intensive
One to three day immersions combining morning scholarly study, afternoon embodied practice (dhikr, breath, movement), and evening suhba — open conversation, reflection, companionship.
Format: in-person (rotating cities) and occasional online
First intensive: coming 2025/2026
Building Sacred Space
بناء
Bina' is our residential formation intensive. Participants don't attend a program housed in a facility. They build the facility itself — a zawiya rising through their hands over the course of the program. Using traditional Islamic building techniques — adobe, rammed earth, sacred geometry, qibla orientation — in the lineage of Hassan Fathy and Abdel-Wahed El-Wakil.
“The community that will pray there is formed by building it together — a direct recovery of prophetic precedent. The Prophet built his first mosque in Medina with his own hands, alongside his companions.”
