Ibn ʿAbbād

ورود الموارد الامدادية من الله تعالى على قلب عبده بحسب القوة الاستعدادية المجبولة فيه وشروق الانوار اليقينية على حسب صفاء سره من كدر التعلق بالآثار والركون الى الاغيار

The arrival of the inflowing gifts of succour (*al-mawārid al-imdādiyya*) from God Most High upon the heart of His servant is in proportion to the power of preparedness (*al-quwwa al-istiʿdādiyya*) innately formed within him; and the dawning of the lights of certainty (*al-anwār al-yaqīniyya*) accords with the purity of his innermost heart (*sirr*) from the murk of attachment (*taʿalluq*) to created traces (*āthār*) and of reliance (*rukūn*) upon what is other than God (*aghyār*)

Ibn ʿAbbād's Arabic: the opening of his commentary on each passage, transcribed from the page images of the Cairo 1319/1901 print and read twice (each comment links to the page where his commentary on that passage begins; the rest of it is on the following pages, not transcribed). English translations of the commentaries and of the passage are AI (Claude) and marked. Differences are computed by comparing the words each commentator quotes with our working text; they may reflect a different manuscript reading, a paraphrase, or an alignment error. About this text.
