He knew of you that you cannot bear to be without Him, so He made you witness what has issued forth from Him.

عدم الصبر عن الله تعالى من وجود الاحتظاء بمعرفته وهو حال شريف يقتضى دوام وجود المعية الاختصاصية والمعية الاختصاصية تقتضى دوام المشاهدة والحضور والمشاهدة الحقيقية غير متصورة فى هذه الدار لما هى عليه من الدناءة والنقص والفناء والذهاب

The commentary: Being unable to bear (*ʿadam al-ṣabr*) being without God Most High comes from finding one's portion of delight (*iḥtiẓāʾ*) in knowing Him (*maʿrifa*). It is a noble state (*ḥāl*), one that requires the unbroken presence of the special companionship (*al-maʿiyya al-ikhtiṣāṣiyya*), and the special companionship in turn requires unbroken witnessing (*mushāhada*) and presence (*ḥuḍūr*). Yet true witnessing cannot be conceived in this abode, given the lowliness, deficiency, transience, and passing away that are its condition
