لَا تَطْلُبْ مِنْهُ اَنْ يُخْرِجَكَ مِنْ حَالَةٍ لِيَسْتَعْمِلَكَ فِيمَا سِوَاهَا فَلَوْ اَرَادَكَ لَاسْتَعْمَلَكَ مِنْ غَيْرِ اِخْرَاجٍ

Do not ask Him to take you out of one state so that He may employ you in something other than it; for had He wanted you [there], He would have employed you [so] without taking you out.

كما انه اذا كان المرء على حالة لاتوافق غرضه كانت متعلقة بالدين او بالدنيا لاينبغى له ان يروم الخروج منها بنفسه ويعارض حكم وقته فيحدث فيه غير ما اظهره الله فيه كما تقدم فى قوله ما ترك من الجهل شيأ

Just as, when a person is in a state that does not accord with his aim, whether it concerns religion or worldly life, he ought not to seek to leave it of his own accord and so oppose the decree (*ḥukm*) of his moment (*waqt*), bringing about in it something other than what God has made manifest in it, as was set out earlier in his saying, "He has left out nothing of ignorance
