مَتَى فَتَحَ لَكَ بَابَ الْفَهْمِ فِى الْمَنْعِ عَادَ الْمَنْعُ عَيْنَ الْعَطَاءِ

Whenever He opens for you the door of understanding concerning the withholding, the withholding becomes the very essence of the giving.

Ibn ʿAbbād

سيأتى بيان هذا من كلام المؤلف رحمه الله فى قوله متى أعطاك أشهدك بره ومتى منعك أشهدك قهره الى آخره

An explanation of this will come from the author's own words, may God have mercy on him, where he says: "Whenever He gives to you, He makes you witness His kindness (*birr*); and whenever He withholds from you, He makes you witness His overpowering might (*qahr*)," and so on to the end [of the saying].
