And from within the innermost depths of the wine-jars it rose up, until in reality nothing remained of it but a name.

Taṣāʿud (rising up) is a tafāʿul [form], which entails its rising little by little. In the expression there is an istiʿāra bi-l-kināya (implicit metaphor) in which the thing compared to, namely the human being, is omitted. Attributing 'entrails' to the wine-jars is an istiʿāra takhyīliyya (imaginative metaphor). The taṣāʿud may be regarded both as tarshīḥ (reinforcement of the metaphor) and as tajrīd (divestment of the metaphor); so reflect.

[…] because of its completeness. This is an allusion to the dwindling away of existential perfections and the passing away of human gnoses, until nothing remains except what the possessor of the sealing rank alluded to: the remaining of what is contrary to good. God Most High wards off every harm.

That is, the aforementioned wine; he means it rose little by little. This is a kināya (metonymy) for the concealment of the divine sciences from the breasts of men, and for spiritual aspirations falling short of attaining and seeking them, because hearts have turned away from this field. The cause of that is the utmost desire for love of this world and its lusts, and increased absorption in it and turning toward [it].

… etc. So it is said: the wine-like reality rose after its tajallī (self-disclosure) by descending into sensible and intelligible forms, and nothing remained of it with the sincere aspirant except the Name that takes charge of him, because he is its majlā (locus of manifestation). God Most High said: 'To God belong the most beautiful names, so call upon Him by them' (Q 7:180). For He is not called upon or sought except by His names, because it is they that act in the worlds, not the holy Essence, since It is independent of the worlds, by virtue of God Most High's saying: 'And God is independent of the worlds.'
