  1. 1
    ...

Litanies for the sanctification of the Sun on Sunday. Welcome to the living, rational, most luminous one, the most pure individual, the most radiant star! Peace be upon you, and the salutations of God and His blessings, O greatest luminary and most noble lord, obedient to your Originator, moving in love for the majesty of your Maker through the motion of your sphere, free from receptivity to rupture, to generation and corruption, and to rectilinear motion.

  2. 2
    .

You are Hūrakhsh, the mighty, vanquisher of the darkness of nightfall, chief of the world, king of the stars, lord of the higher individuals (the heavenly bodies), maker of the day by the command of God Most High, master over the embodied lights by the might of God. You are the one obeyed, the shining body, the dazzling, the radiant, the knowing, the wise, the excellent, the greatest of the children of holiness among the lights that have taken on bodily volume, the vicegerent of the Light of Light in the world of bodies.

  3. 3
    .....

Your light is from a light that terminates in His light, and your dominance is from a dominance that terminates in His dominance. You are a likeness of His majesty, one exemplar among the exemplars of His splendor, and a proof set before His servants. Whomever among bodies you grant your light becomes luminous, and whomever you make fortunate by the power of God is made fortunate. You give the stars your light and take nothing from them, and you clothe them in splendor and illumination. Glory be to Him who formed you and made you luminous, who set you moving in longing for His majesty, who settled you in the fourth sphere, and who established you in the middle of the order of the All.

  4. 4

I ask you, O holy Father, possessor of sovereign might and awe, perfect in powers, cause of the succession of the two ever-new ones (day and night) and of the procession of the seasons, that you ask—by that which spreads forth the light of your rational, rising soul—your Father, your cause, your beloved and the principle of your motion, of whom you are the shadow and the talisman, and all the victorial (dominating) lights, the separate intellects, that they ask, with the asking befitting the world of the everlasting (sempiternity), which is free of change and renewal, their Father and cause, the Nearest Light, the most noble originated being, the Intellect of the All, the first, greatest effect, that he in turn ask likewise his God and the God of gods.

  5. 5
    .

[I beseech] the Terminus of the first, primordial causes, the Order of the worlds, the Originator of the All, the Self-Subsisting, the Light of Light, God of every intellect and soul, and of every body, ethereal and elemental, simple and compound, disposed according to the most complete and most perfect order: God, the Unique, the Necessary Existent, mighty is His dominion, that He illumine my soul with the holy flashes, the divine sciences, and the higher virtues; that He make me one of those who yearn for Him; that He guard me from the afflictions of soul and body; that He grant victory to the people of light and illumination, and bless them and us, and sanctify them and us, forever.
