Ibn ʿAbbād

سجن وجوده هو شهوده لنفسه ومراعاته لحظه وفضاء شهوده أن يغيب عن ذلك بشهوده عظمة الله تعالى وجلاله ورؤية قيام حركاته وسكناته

The prison of one's existence is one's witnessing of oneself and one's attending to one's own share (*ḥaẓẓ*). The open expanse of one's witnessing is that one become absent (*ghayba*) from all that through witnessing the immensity of God Most High and His majesty, and through seeing that one's movements and stillnesses are upheld
