واردات الاحوال هى مايرد على القلوب من المعارف الربانية والاسرار الروحانية وهى التى توجب لها أحوالا حميدة فمنها وارد يوجب هيبة ومنها وارد يوجب أنسا ومنها وارد يوجب قبضا ومنها وارد يوجب بسطا الى غير ذلك من مختلفات الاحوال

The incoming influxes of the states are whatever comes upon hearts in the way of lordly gnoses (*al-maʿārif al-rabbāniyya*) and spiritual secrets (*al-asrār al-rūḥāniyya*); it is these that bring about praiseworthy states (*aḥwāl*) in them. Among them is an influx that brings about awe (*hayba*), and among them an influx that brings about intimacy (*uns*), and among them an influx that brings about contraction (*qabḍ*), and among them an influx that brings about expansion (*basṭ*), and so on through the other varieties of states
