Atlas
About this atlas
The atlas holds the chains of transmission from the Prophet as the standard references and the classical sources record them: the Sufi orders, the chains of Qurʾān recitation, the teachers of the schools of law and ḥadīth, and the lines of the Prophet's family, with the places they spread and the living houses and teachers who carry them today. Every link shows its sources; where they differ, both readings are shown, and we do not rule on any community's claims. Ibn ʿArabī's own life, teachers and readers are on their own page.

Sources for this person
The chain up to the Prophet
No chain up to the Prophet is recorded for this person in the sources read.
How to read the marks
- Two sources: a solid rule. Two independent references give the same link.
- One source: a lighter rule, so labelled.
- The community's own account: a dotted rule. The order tells it; we have not yet read it against a reference source.
- A gap in the rule: the sources omit names between the two. The label says which.
- The sources differ: tap the ≠ to read each reading with its source.
- A ring: a spiritual link, without a meeting (uwaysī).

- Mufaddal Saifuddin's side: Burhān al-Dīn conferred the naṣṣ on him on 4 June 2011 in front of witnesses; under Dāwūdī doctrine a naṣṣ can be changed or revoked, and the alleged 1965 naṣṣ lacked witnesses (as reported in his defence).Verdictum, 'Bombay HC dismisses suit challenging appointment of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin', 23 Apr 2024
- Khuzaima Quṭb al-Dīn and, after 2016, Ṭāhir Fakhr al-Dīn: Khuzaima was privately appointed successor by Burhān al-Dīn in a naṣṣ before the public designation of 10 Dec 1965 (the day the court report gives for the mazoon announcement), kept secret until 2014; they claim the office of 53rd Dāʿī (Khuzaima) and 54th (Ṭāhir). Suit 337/2014 was filed 29 March 2014 seeking that declaration.Verdictum, 'Bombay HC dismisses suit challenging appointment of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin', 23 Apr 2024the community's own account: Fatemi Dawat Legal (site of the office of Syedna Taher Fakhruddin), visual timeline
- Court record, reported: on 23 April 2024 the Bombay High Court (Justice Gautam Patel, single bench) dismissed the suit, holding the plaintiff had not proved the 1965 naṣṣ; the judge said he decided 'proof' and not 'faith'. Ṭāhir Fakhr al-Dīn's office said it would contest the judgment on appeal; the appeal's status was not confirmed in this pass.Verdictum, 'Bombay HC dismisses suit challenging appointment of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin', 23 Apr 2024Free Press Journal, 'Bombay HC dismisses suit...', 23 Apr 2024Free Press Journal, 'Vows to continue the fight, says Taher Fakhruddin', 27 Apr 2024
