اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ١ 1. The prayer and where it comes from
Nabhānī (Afḍal al-ṣalawāt, no. 26) gives a story from Ibn al-Fākihānī: Shaykh Mūsā al-Ḍarīr was at sea in a storm few survived, fell asleep, and saw the Prophet in a dream telling the passengers to say this blessing a thousand times. They reached about three hundred when the wind dropped. We pass this on as a report. We have not found who composed the words.
Like other blessings not found in hadith, it meets the general objection to any fixed form that isn't reported from the Prophet. We have not yet found a ruling on this text that we can quote from its source.
