About this text
  1. Mawqif 33 · The muezzin at the Sacred Mosque

    See the print: Damascus 1966, p. 79, Cairo, vol. 1, PDF p. 88 (archive.org)

I heard the muezzin in the Sacred Mosque reciting from the minaret His words (exalted is He): "Truly nothing in the earth or in the heaven is hidden from God" (Q 3:5).

I marvelled at this informing of His Messenger (God bless him and grant him peace), together with His emphasising it with "truly" (inna)!!

Then the Real cast to me that those intended by this address and informing are the common folk who are ignorant of the Real.

As for the knowers, they have known Him (exalted is He) to be the very essence of everything in the earth and the heaven.

So how could anything in the earth and the heaven be hidden from Him?

Can His own essence be hidden from Him?

So this address is as if He said: I know My Essence, and nothing of My Essence is hidden from Me.

This gives the knowers nothing they did not already have, and the Real (exalted is He) is far too majestic to address anyone without benefit.

So it is established that the one intended by this informing [is …]; for emphasising a statement is only ever for one who denies it or one who hesitates,

and no hesitation ever arose in the Messenger (God bless him and grant him peace) or his heirs, let alone denial.
