   قُلْتُ لِلْحَقِّ تَعَالَى: لِيَ الْقِدَمُ بِالْعِلْمِ، وَلَكَ الْحُدُوثُ بِالظُّهُورِ وَالْحِسِّ•

   I said to the Real, exalted is He: Mine is eternity through knowledge, and Yours is origination through manifestation and sense-perception.✦

2. فَأَنْتَ الْقَدِيمُ وَأَنَا الْقَدِيمُ•

3. وَأَنْتَ الْحَادِثُ الْقَدِيمُ وَأَنَا الْحَادِثُ الْقَدِيمُ،

4. فَمَا الَّذِي تَمَيَّزْتَ بِهِ مِنِّي، وَانْفَصَلْتَ بِهِ عَنِّي•

7. وَالْحُدُوثُ وَجَوَازُ الْوُجُوبِ؛ لَكَ بِالذَّاتِ، وَلِي بِالْغَيْرِ•

8. فَلِذَا تَمَيَّزَتْ مَرْتَبَتِي بِالرُّبُوبِيَّةِ، وَمَرْتَبَتُكَ بِالْعُبُودِيَّةِ،

9. وَالْمَرَاتِبُ حَافِظَةُ الْمَنَازِلِ، فَلَا يَلْتَبِسُ عَالٍ بِسَافِلٍ•
